Black-owned beauty Sadiaa Black Beauty Guide is kicking off a new networking series aimed at connecting local Black beauty professionals, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts.
All facets of the beauty industry — from hairstylists, barbers and fashion designers to makeup and nail artists and skincare experts — are invited to mix, mingle and network, as well as explore opportunities to raise their own brand profiles.
The mixer series is curated by Sadiaa founder and Hype Hair digital editor, Stephenetta (isis) Harmon.
“As a new transplant to Dallas, I look forward to connecting with and learning more about the DFW area’s strong beauty community,” said Stephenetta. “Black buying power overall stands at a staggering $1.3 trillion in the U.S. At $117 billion, Texas now tops the nation in buying power (and population) for African Americans, with Dallas and Houston as two of the top 10 metro areas in the country.”
Each month will have a different theme, as well as highlight a local brand or business. For the kick-off, the theme is “Black Marketing” where she will share insider tips for beauty businesses to get press and features in publications.
Stephenetta added that she is expanding the platform into a 360-media and marketing tool for consumers and brands, alike, to access, support and create new businesses, services, and innovations.
The Sadiaa Black Beauty Mixer kicks-off Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 from 7-10 pm at AODI, located at 211 North Ervay Street in Dallas. Light fare and drinks will be provided.
