Hair loss often adds on another layer of stress and self esteem issues during chemotherapy and other cancer treatments. OWN actress and comedian Cocoa Brown is working to help make these women feel beautiful again through her Wigs Of Love organization by providing hair pieces and wigs.
Now, she is hosting her first brunch and empowerment seminar for women how have lost their “crown”. The premiere event will honor a group of extraordinary women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments with a full makeover, photoshoot and special gifts, featuring custom wig units made by celebrity hairstylists Kim Kimble and Dallas Christopher.
“We as women treat our hair as our crowns. It is a crucial part of who we aren — our personalities and confidence are wrapped up in how our hair looks,” said Brown. “Our goal is to help women regain their confidence. Regain their crown of glory and realize they are not alone in this journey.”
Hosted by television and radio personality Ebony Steele, the brunch will also feature guest speakers and a live performance from Grammy-nominated singer Kelly Price.
