Makeup maven Melissa Butler has a lot to celebrate these days. From the birth of her first Lip Bar truck, several pop-up shops and inking an exclusive deal with Target, the Detroit native is bossing up in a major way.
The former Wall Street financier- turned-beauty CEO has opened her first retail location in downtown Detroit’s Parker’s Alley.
Designed by fellow Detroit native Imani Day, the store boasts four main stations with mirrors and three hanging swings to provide clients with an interactive and playful shopping experience.
“I’m happy we are finally creating some retail here in the city,” Butler told the Michigan Chronicle. “There’s no reason we should have to drive all the way to Somerset (Mall) to get high-quality products, especially make-up. I’m happy to be making my mark.”
Shoppers can get their hands on the brand’s full line of vegan and cruelty-free products, Monday-Saturday from 10am-7pm and Sundays from 12-5pm.
Congratulations Melissa! Now, that’s what we call #BlackGirlMagic!
