Black Panther actress Letitia Wright served up shimmery perfection at the Oscars Sunday (Feb. 24) night. The Wakanda wonder dazzled in a floor- length haute couture Dior gown styled by Ade Samuel and soft beauty beat crafted by Tasha Reiko Brown.

With her understated look, her shine was all in the details, including her pearl-accented ‘do coiffed by famed celeb stylist Ursula Stephen. We caught up with the busy hair guru to get deets on the classic look.

“Tonight was really about going with the flow,” said Ursula. “We had a lot of last minute changes, but I’m so happy we ended up with a slicked-back look. The deep side part and pearl pins really helped bring out the champagne colored tones in her dress.”

The key to any great look is clean, healthy hair. To prep, Ursula cleansed and conditioned Letitia’s hair and then applied Dove Style+Care Curls Defining Mousse before blow-drying her hair with a small round brush.

She then made a deep side part in her hair to create a flattering silhouette and flat ironed small sections of her hair, using Dove Style+Care Heat Protection Spray to prevent heat damage.

“Because we needed her hair to be super sleek for all of the pearled pins, I heated up my press comb in the ceramic heater stove and ran it through her hair, which also helped to add shine.”

She then set her hair using a combination of Love Beauty and Planet Coconut Milk & White Jasmine Soft Hold & Shine Hair Spray and a strong hold gel to set.

Once her hair was sleek and molded down, Ursula added various sized pearl pins throughout her hair for a show-stopping look.
