After stealing our hearts in the 66th Miss Universe Pageant by embracing her natural beauty unapologetically and becoming the first muse of Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil products, former Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett is making headlines yet again. The model has just launched her own Paris-based modeling agency, A Model Management!
According to the Jamaica Observer, the beauty queen has partnered with Dimitris Kosvagiannis, to provide Jamaica with a direct link to the international beauty and fashion market. Davina took to Instagram to share her new venture.
Davina also shares that lack of training put a strain on her early career. ” I was sent to London twice to see agencies, went through my share of rejections,” she told the publication. “But not only that, it takes time and costs money. Not everyone has the money to spend or the time to wait, so what we are doing is creating that link. So once we sign the models they will be contracted to an international agency.”
While the beauty is hard at work helping aspiring models reach their goals, she has no plans of retiring any time soon.
“I will have to work just as hard as the other models to get the jobs that are out there,” she says. “Yes, I have shares in the company, but I can’t sit and say because of that I deserve a spot — that’s not how the fashion industry works.”
