We’re still in awe of the fabulous mane slays at The Blonds Fall 2019 NYFW presentation. Created by Moroccanoil Artistic Director Kevin Hughes, cascading waves, luscious curls and natural manes dominated the runway. The perfect balance of glam and edge, these looks complemented the Disney meets high fashion theme to a tee.

“Tonight’s look was inspired by Disco, gangster with a dash of Jerry Hall,” said Hughes. “The hair is glamour mixed with androgyny that only The Blonds can deliver!”

Hughes shared tips on how to achieve voluminous and bouncy Hollywood waves he created using Moroccanoil products.

On damp hair, he used a dime size amount of Moroccanoil Treatment (or Moroccanoil Treatment Light for finer tones) to provide the perfect foundation for styling.

Next, he applied Moroccanoil Thickening Lotion for finer textures or Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion for thicker, natural textures. Then he blow-dried hair using a ceramic hair dryer and a 45 MM round brush bending the ends of the hair to create a smooth voluminous effect.

Before heat styling, he placed the hair in a side part lining up with the arch of the eyebrow and sprayed Moroccanoil Perfect Defense throughout the hair to protect it.

He then curled hair, working from the back to the front with a 1¼” curling iron and spraying Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong on each section as he pinched and twisted around the curling iron and pin the curl in place.

Once curls cooled, he used a boar bristle brush to give the curls a base and then back combed hair to expand the curls.

To maintain the waves and volume, he sprayed Luminous Hairspray Strong to finish off each look.
