Hair Horror Stories: Simone Missick, Logan Browning & More Share On-Set Drama

Black models aren’t the only ones struggling to ensure their tresses are treated right on set. We’ve watched countless movies where we’ve wondered what the hell happened to an actress’ hair.

Netflix recently launched a Strong Black Lead initiative highlighting one of the many ails we’ve experienced behind the scenes. In a now gone-viral series of social media posts, they share hair horrors stories of some the streaming network’s top Black actresses, including Simone Missick, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Logan Browning.


“Black actresses shouldn’t have to rely on underground connections and their own pockets while at work,” posted Netflix. “Imagine having to be in constant worry of your hair’s (and your overall body’s) health. Seems unfair, doesn’t it?
