Six students at Bennett Career Institute (BCI) were each surprised with $500 scholarships awards last Friday (Aug. 24) towards their school year. The students were selected based on demonstrated leadership, proven academic success, financial need, perseverance, and commitment to their school and community.

“Receiving the ORS Beauty School Scholarship was totally unexpected,” said Patrice Simpson, one of the scholarship recipients. “The scholarship has helped pay off my school tuition and placed me one step closer to attaining my goal of being a licensed cosmetologist. I hope ORS is able to continue their work in the beauty community and assist other students in reaching their goals in the future!”

The event also celebrated the 300-student institute, including a special tribute to Chet Bennett, BCI founder, along with ORS Olive Oil product giveaways.

The Scholarship Giveaway is a part of ORS Olive Oil’s philanthropic initiative #ORSOliveOilCares which partners with organizations who are committed to making meaningful change, provide resources and support education endeavors in the communities they serve.
