Last night’s 2018 Met Gala brought out some of the most epic look we’ve ever seen and tops on that list was Zendaya. In fact, the actress just might have won the entire red carpet with her fashion suit of armor and slay-worthy bob. The beauty channeled Joan of Arc for the heavenly inspired event, while rocking a silver custom Atelier Versace gown styled by Law Roach. The Medieval-esque look featured a chainmail meta dress with long train paired with structured bodice, neck and shoulder armor.

“When I knew the theme and Versace, we started the conversation, there were a lot of sketches from Versace and I started thinking about strong women who had a connection to religion,” Law told WWD. “I dreamt of Joan of Arc one night and called Versace and was like, ‘What if we did something to reference Joan of Arc?’ They came back with really, really great sketches.”

Zendaya is also known for bringing the drama with her hair, including an epic afro at the 2017 gala, and this year’s look was no exception. Hairstylist Ursula Stephen came through with an edgy copper red bob creation that everyone swooning. The look, she said, “was inspired by the power of Joan of Arc and opulence of Versace who dressed her this evening.

“The gown looks like armor and chainmail, so we knew we needed a strong beauty look as well,” she told Hype Hair. “We have been talking about going with a red look for almost a year now, so we were excited when tonight was the perfect fit.”

To get the look, Ursula installed and custom dyed extensions and went to work with her scissor-magic to create the choppy look with “short, severe bangs”. To maximize the natural wave pattern, she said she “sprayed Zendaya’s hair with Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray for pieceyness and scrunched in Dove Style+Care Curls Defining Mousse ($3.99) for added shine.” She locked it in place with TRESemmé’s Compressed Micro-Mist Hair Spray Hold Level 1: Texture and diffused it.
