Janelle Monáe is blowing all sorts of minds with her new emotion picture Dirty Computer. The back to the Afrofuture short film serves as a musical playground for new album of the same name as well as a celebration of recently announced pansexuality and Black girl magic.
Directed by Alan Ferguson, the sci-fi-meets-pop-art visuals also lend themselves to a cadre of Black hair magic moments led by Janelle, her Black Girl Magic dancers and, even, her male love interest Ché.
While, we’ve already been privy to a few of the visuals — including Pynk and Django — we are treated to a whole new slew of inventive takes on her signature lewks crafted by hair guru Nikki Nelms, including bantu knots, blowouts, and bohemian braids.
