Target Expands Beauty Aisle With 8 Makeup Brands For Women Of Color

Target just made shopping for beauty brands a little easier. The retail giant has expanded its beauty department with eight women-owned cosmetic brands designed to meet the beauty needs of medium to dark skin tones.

The retail giant made waves more than a decade ago (before the natural hair movement was a thing) after expanding its hair aisle with offerings for textured kinks, curls and coils and continued to add products throughout the years. Now, it’s making beauty moves by adding more than 150 new products designed for women of color. Beginning April 18, you will be able to cop everything from a wide rand of foundations and richly pigmented eyeshadows to mink lashes and matte lippies on the store’s website and purchase in-store beginning May 20.

The brands include Hue Noir, Coloured Raine, EveryHueBeauty, Makeup Geek, Haley’s, Reina Rebelde, Violet Voss and The Lip Bar — which actually debuted in-stores earlier this year. This also marks the first time that many of these brands will be made available in-stores.

“We know our guests have a wide range of beauty needs and preferences, and we want to make sure Target has the best assortment for all hair types or skin tones,” said Christina Hennington, senior vice president of Beauty and Essentials at Target in a press statement. “These eight new cosmetic brands will further our range of shade options—from foundation to lip—and are available at incredible prices. We’ll continue to listen to our guests to understand what beauty products they’re looking for at Target, and look forward to seeing their response to these new cosmetic brands.”

The new offerings won’t break the bank either, ranging in price, from $9.99 to $24.99. While many makeup lovers already know about most of these brands, there were a few even we didn’t know about. So, click through to get better acquainted with each brand before they hit shelves next month.
