Teyana Taylor just added another new fashion collabo to her rising empire. The singer, model and now reality tv star has teamed with Italian fashion brand GCDS (God Can’t Destroy Streetwear) to create a capsule collection paying homage to her hometown city.
The new GCDS X Teyana Taylor capsule collection is aptly dubbed “Harlem made” and inspired by Teyana’s street chic upbringing and edgy personality. The line features a mashup of t-shirts, hoodies, bodysuits and accessories/
“It’s streetwear, where the hood and high fashion meet, Teyana told WWD. “That’s always been me. It’s Harlem made, I am Harlem. So it represents me, as well as the culture.”
GCDS founder Giuliano Calza said that instead of chasing cool, the collection is aimed at celebrating Taylor’s uniqueness and diversity. “I love strong, independent women who have made a name for themselves, with incredible energy.”
The collection debuts this Friday, April 6 at a launch party as part of GCDS’ New York pop-up shop opening at VFiles. Pieces retail from $25 to $200 and will be available through April 21 at VFiles headquarters at 12 Mercer Stree in New York City and online.
