If you rock a weave or braids and have not yet heard of Girl+Hair Under Hair Care, get ready to be impressed. The Black-owned hair care brand has already gained a cult following as the first-ever hair care line aimed at protecting your hair from your protective styles. You will soon be able to get access to its healthy hair formulas on the shelves of select JCPenney Salons and Bed Bath & Beyond/Harmon Face Values later this month.
This is pretty major for hair mavens who are not into searching for missing edges after taking out their install.
“Most women experience extensive breakage and dryness of their natural or relaxed hair due to neglect,” said Dr. Camille Verovic who founded the brand in 2009. “We created this hair care line because we want to provide women with an easy and effective solution to care for their hair underneath their hair extensions, braids or wigs.”
Their Under Hair Care line includes a sulfate-free shampoo, clarifying apple cider vinegar rinse, leave-in conditioner, hydrating hair milk and protective restoring balm. Each offering is specially formulated to penetrate the hair while covered up and comes packaged in bottles with specially designed nozzle tips to help you actually reach beneath your wefts and between your cornrows and braids.
While already in select stores around the country, the brand has been diligent in creating new partnership to raise awareness for the brand and under hair health care. “The new launch provides a great opportunity to grow our brand beyond our online presence and make Under Hair Care more accessible and available to our customers,” said Dr. Verovic.
The entire line, which retails from $14.99-$17.99 each, will be available at 13 JCPenney Salons beginning March 25 and in 40 Bed Bath and Beyond/Harmon Face Values Stores beginning March 31. For a complete list of locations can be found at girlandhair.com.
