Celebs came out in full force last night for the American Heart Association’s annual Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection presentation at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Hosted by Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei, stars strutted down the runway in a series of vibrant red looks to help raise awareness of heart disease.
According to the AHA, though more than 80 percent of cardiovascular diseases can be prevented, a woman dies from the disease about every 80 seconds. Go Red For Women was created as a empowering way to help spotlight and address this disparity.
Among the women who hit the runway were Tatyana Ali, Zuri Hall, Adrienne Bailon Houghton, Lynn Whitfield CeCe Winans and Rachel Lindsay. Two heart disease survivors – Macy’s employee Karen A. Hill and AHA national spokeswoman Lilly Rocha also shared the catwalk.
