Kerry Washington served our fashion lives yet again at the GLSEN Respect Awards Friday night before accepting accepting the Inspiration Award. The Scandal actress took the floral trend to new heights, slaying in a brightly patterned fall floral pantsuit by Roberto Cavalli paired with a red velvety clutch.
Her fashion beat was complemented with a vibrant pop of blue eyeshadow and thick winged eye. The beauty also turned up her hair game rocking sleek and bouncy curls styled up by Johnny Wright.
Her acceptance speech was just as fierce as her fashion sense, as she called out the “White House that literally preaches division and discrimination” and shared the importance of embracing LGBTQ communities.
“By creating school environments that embrace clear inclusivity, understanding, and acceptance, you not only empower LGBTQ students, you help all students,” she told the audience. “When you ensure the protection of one, you make space for all. You transform your schools into places where everyone belongs, where everyone is free to learn, and where everyone can feel loved. Through your boldness, and your bravery, you’re making it so that every young person in America has the change to love and be loved. You are collectively helping our country to become a more perfect union, and not just for some of us, but for all of us.”
