Walking Dead actress Sonequa Martin-Green is making waves as the first black female lead of Star Trek. The beauty is starring in Netflix’s all new series reboot Star Trek: Discovery. She’s also turning heads with her amazing picture perfect skin.
We spotted her on her first Emmy’s red carpet appearance serving up her signature glow. Turns out we can also score her fresh look with a few quick tips. Here, celebrity makeup artist Carola Gonzalez breaks down how.
“I wanted the focus to be mainly on Sonequa’s skin and eyes,” said Carola who shared on Instagram a video of her prepping Sonequa’s skin for her beauty beat. “I wanted her skin to glow and for her beautiful almond shaped eyes to stand out. I wanted her to look fresh, and sophisticated just like the woman she is.”
For her skin, Carola Gonzalez used Glossier stretch concealer in Dark 30 to even out her skin and brighten under the eye area and conceal dark circles. For flawless coverage, she applied Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation stick in Golden Honey 5.75 ($46).
For the eyes, Carola applied the Westmore Beauty Hollywood Eyecons Eyeshadow Palette. She started with the Bombshell shade as a base, the Glamourous shade on the outer edge of the eye and crease working it towards the middle, Leading Lady eyeshadow over the outer edge of the eye and Leading Lady again under the bottom lash. She intensified the eye with Elizabeth Arden’s Smokey Eye Pencil under the rim of the eye for a perfect finish.
