Alicia Keys is all sorts of #BlackGirlMagic in her cover spread for Allure. The singer slays the glossy’s February 2017 cover rocking beautifully twisted head wraps and her #nomakeup beat she’s been serving for the past year.
Inside the spread, she actually dons makeup for her first editorial shoot since last spring. Her makeup artist Dotti, who’s responsible for Alicia’s naturally radiant face, added drama with a series of graphic eye looks –including super thick bottom eyeliner, vibrant strokes of purple and teal cat-eye.
“I’m not a slave to makeup,” Alicia told the magazine. “I’m not a slave to not wearing makeup either. I get to choose at [any] given moment. That’s my right.”
For her hair looks, she alternated between a series of patterned wraps and head coverings and textured tresses styled by Esther Langham.
