The chic updo was created by her go-to hairstylist César DeLeön Ramirêz. “For Ciara’s AMA’s look, I wanted to do something that would complement her beautiful dress. My vision was a long, messy ponytail with a ’70s-inspired fringe,” said the MIZANI Global Artistic Director César DeLeön Ramirêz.

He also shared details on the how to create the fab tousled look at home.

To start, he blow-dried Ciara’s hair smooth with MIZANI’s Thermasmooth System He then center-parted the front area and sectioned out hair around her face to use later for the fringe.

For the pony, he sectioned a front and back part and brushed the back section into a ponytail to create a base for her extensions.

“Next, I attached a “Faux Cesar-Do Pony Tail” which I custom-colored to blend with her beautiful blonde color,” said César. “To hide and blend the faux ponytail, I incorporated the remainder of her hair into the ponytail creating one big sexy, messy pony.”

He completed the look by cutting the fringe around her face and smoothing it out with a flatiron. He also used the flatiron to smooth along the ponytail for added shine. Even though it was raining last night in LA, he credits his MIZANI HRM Humidity Resistant Mist for keeping the look shiny and her ponytail in check!
