Ciara is continuing to expand her mark in the beauty world after being tapped to serve as global ambassador for Revlon, joining the ranks of fellow personalities Halle Berry and Olivia Wilde. “It’s a dream come true,” she said. And after revealing that she, herself, was named after the beauty brand’s 1974 fragrance, it’s seems like the partnership was meant to be.

“My mom had been trying to figure out my name for a long time before I was born… it was two names — it was Bianca or something else — nothing had anything to do with Ciara,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “Then my dad bought her the fragrance — the Ciara fragrance by Revlon — from the commissary at the military base. They were in Texas…and not only did he love this fragrance, but the name also really resonated with her and she ditched all the other names and Ciara became my name.”
And the love with the brand has been passed down as the singer as she is “really obsessed with their Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors.” She also revealed her beauty must-haves from the line for a great face beat.
“My makeup artist mixed a shadow with Revlon’s Photoready Kajal eye pencil for this smudged and smoky look. And I’ve been obsessed for years with their ColorStay Brow Pencil. Because it’s all about keeping the eyebrows in check. I believe if a girl has her eyebrows together, she’s got a good start.”
