In the past month since Prince passed away, we have seen a plethora of impromptu musical tributes and historic timelines of the late great Purple One. What we haven’t seen were tributes capturing the fashion flair of the man who was as much a fashion icon as he was a music legend. The first to pay homage to Prince’s compelling fashion artistry comes all the way from Serbia in an epic spread featuring model Chanel Iman.

The beauty slays four different covers for the June 2016 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Serbia channeling some of Prince’s most classic glam rock looks, from Purple Rain and Dirty Mind to Plectrumelectrum. The tribute was shot at the also legendary Electric Lady Studios by Joshua Jordan under the creative direction of Christopher Sollinger and styled by Kisha Jones.
The multi-page spread includes several of Prince’s signature fashion elements such as his lace gloves and stacked heels to Victorian-esque ruffled shirts and heavily lined eyes.
As for hair, Iman drew inspiration from her own mother. “She showed us pictures of her mom in the Afro, and when she put it on, it was as if we moved into the future and flashed back to the past,” said Jordan.
While no one will ever pull of sexual androgyny in quite the same way as Prince, we think Iman served serious face for the shoot. The full spread won’t be available until May 21. Until then, press play below for teaser of the shoot and click through to see the other three covers.
