I was never in the game to compete with other barbers. Competition wasn't on my mind. Building a solid clientele and making at least $500 a day was my mission. I started barber school in 98. My daughter @shapedbyre was only eight years old then. She's now twenty six. I was a single mom working and going to school. I moved to Las Vegas in 2001. The same year I met @floydmayweather we were friends years before I started cutting his hair in 2009. Back then it was word of mouth. We didn't have social media to show off the talent and skills like we have today. I look back over my life and I take the time out every night and every day to say to my God, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! #tbt @barbershopconnect #stayicedout #itsjstarr #barbershopconnect #masterbarber ##barbersince98 #barberlove #barbergang #femalebarber #barbersarehiphop #barberworld
In today’s crazy hair news, thanks to TMZ we’ve just learned that boxer Floyd Mayweather spends more on a single haircut then most of us will spend all year. But wait, you say, Mayweather is bald. Yes, he is and his go-to look is no hair at all – one that should be super cheap and easy to maintain. Right?

Well, not for the aptly nicknamed “money man.” According to his personal barber Jackie Starr, he spends (or wastes, depending on you look at it) $1000 a pop to get his head shaved. And, to add insult to injury, he gets his hair cut multiple times a week.
Starr. owner of Jackie’s Iced Out Barber and Beauty Shop, has been cutting his, um, hair since 2009 and is the only barber who touches his dome – whether at home or on the road.
She told TMZ, “I cut his hair two times a week, three times is pushing it, but then it also depends on the occasion. If he’s in training, I will cut him Monday, Wednesday and Friday.” That’s $2000 – $3000 a week to stay bald.
Now, I’m not trying to knock anyone’s hustle, but damn, that’s a lot of money for 30 minutes of work. Forget new friends, I need new hair clients.
