Hype Hair: How do you feel about wigs and weaves?
MB: 
I truly feel that hair can be a form of self-expression, so I’m a fan of naturals, weaves, wigs, braids or whatever else may make you happy. I personally wear sew-ins and occasionally wigs to protect my hair from the daily blow-drying and curling necessary to perform. I enjoyed the wig created for my Code Red Experience Tour. My natural hair is also red but it was great protection for my hair and a fun color that made the Code Red statement loud and clear.

Name some of your essential hair products.
MB: My essential products are Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo and Conditioner, Design Essentials Silk Essentials, Design Essentials Edge Control, a silk scarf, NuMe Wand Irons and wooden combs.

What are your must-have beauty products?
MB: I don’t move without my Cetaphil soap, LaMer lip balm, Bobbi Brown moisturizer, Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes and Iman eyebrow pencil.


What’s the best advice you can give our readers on makeup?
MB: With makeup I’ve learned less is more. Always wear the right shade of foundation and know that if it feels heavy it probably looks that way. Less is more.

What’s the best advice you can share on hair?
MB: I always say that people forget hair is a living entity (meaning when it dies, it dries and typically falls out or remains damaged) so when you fry it and dye it, it has to be cared for and the moisture replenished often. Hair needs constant care. If you can’t do it yourself a professional should be consulted and hired to do so for you.

What motivates you to keep moving forward?
MB: My CHILDREN motivate me, inspire me, encourage me and support me. Because of them I’m always striving to be better, and their unconditional love keeps my heart intact in such a cold, cruel world and business. Through me I hope that they know anything is possible if they believe.
