With issues of diversity in television being openly addressed in media, the number of African American women in television is now higher than ever. At the forefront of the conversation are actresses such as ‘How To Get Away With Murder’s’ Viola Davis and ‘Empire’s’ Taraji P. Henson who dominated the fall season along with other faves, including Kerry Washington and Tracee Ellis Ross. It’s surely been a longtime coming for Davis and Henson, whose careers span well over a decade — and now the spotlight is on them.

So much so that the Hollywood Reporter tapped both Davis and Henson to cover and participate in roundtable discussions for its latest issue regarding “race, sex, age and nudity” alongside Hollywood starlets Lizzy Caplan, Ruth Wilson, Jessica Lange and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
