Skin Check: Kick Off ‘Melanoma Monday’ With A Selfie

Clear SkinIt’s Melanoma Monday and time to do an extra skin check and learn (or remind yourself of) the signs of skin cancer and how to reduce your risk. While many think tanning beds when skin cancer is mentioned, everyone of all skin pigments can get skin cancer from not only too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, but also genetics or environmental influences. It is also important to note that melanoma is the deadliest type — and darker skin is most susceptible to an aggressive form called acral lentiginous melanoma.
