Angela Bassett, Gabrielle Union and More Slay the NAACP Image Awards

US-ENTERTAINMENT-NAACP IMAGE AWARDS-ARRIVALSThe Grammy’s weren’t the only award show creating a buzz of it’s own this weekend. The 46th NAACP Image Awards brought out Hollywood’s finest this past Friday (Feb. 6) night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Cal., in celebration of the best African American achievements in the entertainment.
Most notably, Tracee Ellis Ross won Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for black-ish and Viola Davis for the Drama Series division with her hit TV show How to Get Away with Murder. And last but not least, Taraji P. Henson took home the Entertainer of the Year award, which was well deserved because we’re not sure of anyone else who cold take on such a characters as Cookie in Empire.
From TV to movies and music, the fete was filled with familiar famous faces from Gabrielle Union to Kerry Washington. And of course, with a title like the Image Awards the ladies of the night came correct when they hit the red carpet in gowns and ensembles that wowed.
