Taraji P. Henson Covers Hype Hair’s February 2015 Issue

Taraji P. HensonEver since her star-making turn in cult classic Baby Boy, Taraji P. Henson has been one of our very favorite hairspirations! As one of Hollywood’s A-list actresses, the Oscar- nominee continues to awe us with her incredible performances and haute hair moves. She’s a true beauty inside and out and is the perfect representation of talent, style and class.

Taraji’s always demonstrated amazing versatility throughout her career. She’s tried her hand at everything from comedic to dramatic roles in both film and television. Now we get to see the star as a castmember in the new, critically acclaimed television show Empire, where she is reunited with her Hustle & Flow co-star Terrence Howard.

When we last spoke with Taraji, filming for Empire was just getting underway and she couldn’t have been more ecstatic about her latest project. “It’s very exciting, and my character Cookie is a contender. She is so much fun to play!” Taraji tells us.

Though she’s busy, in–demand and on the go, the mother of one son finds time to balance her full schedule with the simple things. “For me, it is always family first, and I’m blessed to have a career that lets me do what I love. I always take the time to laugh a lot and be positive and let my friends know how much I care about them,” Taraji shares.

She also manages to look fabulous from hair to toe! Over the years, Taraji’s signature hair and beauty looks have run the gamut from simple and sensational to high glamour. When it comes to beauty, Taraji, who describes her style as “chic with a twist,” never leaves home without a lip balm from EOS. She is also a big fan of full, lush-looking eyelashes, so she keeps mascara in her purse at all times. “My favorite mascara was introduced to me by my makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff,” she says.
