We caught up with the singer to discuss his new album, the power of closure,
HYPE HAIR: Your last album was popping! What can fans expect from your new release?
Sammie: I’m excited that we’re approaching June 5th. “Such Is Life” will be out for the world to have and dissect. I think that this project will be different in a good way in the sense of healing. (With) “Everlasting,” I was going through a break up in which I didn’t want to have to go through that process. You know, I was detaching from somebody I was in love with.
HH: Aww, I’m sorry.
Sammie: Nah, it’s cool. Such is life. You know, you go through these things and you sharpen and chisel at yourself and learn more things about yourself. So for this project, I was in a more positive space. I had a clear mind, and I was healed. So, it’s just about love, transparency, and honesty. And that’s just what the mantra means, pretty much to roll with the punches. Sometimes things don’t pan out the way you want them to, but I feel like there is a lesson in everything, and your duty in life is to apply that lesson you learned. And grow from it.
