The Brown Beauty Summit will bring together nearly 20 of the industry’s top heavy hitters to discuss the shifting landscape in light of the current global pandemic and provide insights, guidance, and education on how to remain creative and resilient.

“My mission is to create a safe space for brown beauty professionals to connect and educate others about their experiences in the beauty industry,” Yene tells Hype Hair. “There weren’t enough events in the space that was inclusive so rather than waiting for someone to do it, I created one.”

Confirmed panelists include hairstylists Larry Sims (Gabrielle Union), Felicia Leatherwood (Issa Rae), Tippi Shorter (MIZANI Global Artistic Director), Nakia Rachon (Beyoncé), and Ericka Dotson (Indique Hair) and makeup artists Ashunta Sheriff-Kendricks (Taraji P. Henson), and Sir John (Beyoncé).

The digital summit takes place Fri., May 8, from 1-6pm EST. The summit is free and open to all beauty professionals. For more information or to register, head on over to Brown Beauty Summit.
