Megan Thee Stallion is bringing a new kind of heat for the Marie Claire May 2020 issue. For the cover spread, the hot girl trades in her usually rainbow hair creations for dark cascading waves styled up by Kellon Deryck and a muted face beat painted by Sam Fine.
Inside, she poses it up in a series of mod looks, including a fringed tiered dress and retro trench coat.
In her interview, she talks about only having plan A’s, bucking trends and rap double standards, and her rising music career.
On Striving For Perfection:
“I don’t know when it became the trend to be so motherfucking perfect, but I hate it. I know that I’m a mess sometimes, and it’s okay to be a mess. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to scream. It’s okay to be angry. It’s okay to go through a thousand different emotions.”
On Industry Double Standards:
“A man can be as mediocre as he wants to be but still be praised. A man can talk about how he’s about to do all of these drugs and then come and shoot your house up. But as soon as I say something about my vagina, it’s the end of the world?”
On women running the world:
“I know that women are powerful. I know that we are out here birthing people. I know that we are out here running shit, so I can’t even be mad at you for thinking that we should be held to a high standard,” she says. “We’re the ultimate beings. We are the superior beings.”
