Cynthia Erivo was the belle of the ball at the 2020 Oscars Sunday night. The two-time Academy Award-nominee actress posed it up on the red carpet in a winter white look that gave us all the fairytale feels.
In her red carpet debut, she wore a jaw-dropping custom Versace gown styled by Jason Bolden. And the glam was in the details, with an avant-garde bustier top with silver mesh cutouts and crystal embellishment details trailing down into a billowing skirt.
“Cynthia’s look was simple fairytale glam,” says celeb hairstylist Coree Moreno who styled her sparkling slicked down look. “She wanted to feel like her most glamorous self.”
Cynthia’s hair also served up some shimmer and sparkle with a new pearly white color. Known for her cropped buzz cut, Coree first upped Cynthia’s glam with a double process to achieve the pearly white color. He also shared how he created the look
“The key to the perfect color is having a well-moisturized base,” Coree tells Hype Hair. After cleansing with Hydrating Cleanse Shampoo, he treated her hair with Moisture Spa Recovery Mask which he let sit on her hair for 10 minutes before rinsing out.
“The moisturizing ingredients were perfect to hydrate Cynthia’s coils post-process,” he says. Then he applied Dove Amplified Textures Moisture Lock Leave-in Conditioner for an added layer of protection.
To style, he lathered up a palm sized mound of Dove Style + Care Volume & Fullness Mousse into her hair and then slicked down with a comb twice to “build structure and hold.”
Her simple look was all about the details. Coree used glitter-infused gel and Dove Amplified Textures Shine & Moisture Finishing Gel to add sparkle and refine her hairline and neck area. He finished off her look with Dove Style + Care Micro Mist Extra Hold Hairspray.
