Logan Browning hit up her first SAG Awards red carpet Sunday (Jan. 20) night and she did not disappoint. The Dear White People actress and SAG ambassador was an ethereal dream in a custom lavender Jason Wu gown and lilac nude lips and face beat by Tasha Reiko Brown.

Styled by fashion duo Wayman + Micah, her “Cherry Blossom” dress was made with more than 50 yards of custom-dyed tulle to create the hand-applied ruffles that took a whopping 100 hours to make.
Her dress wasn’t the only point of focus. While Logan is known for her natural hair slay, her curly cornrows took her texture play to the next level. The lewk was coiffed by celeb hair artist and self-dubbed “curl queen” Nai’vasha and featured four large straight-back braids with tucked and pinned ends.
“The whole idea of tonight’s look was to edge up the whimsy of Logan’s custom Jason Wu gown,” Nai’vash tells Hype Hair. “So, I thought an elegant spin on classic cornrows would be the way to go.”
Nai’vasha created the look using Unilever’s new textured haircare brand, Emerge. She used the My Mane BFF Leave-In Conditioner and Style Goals Gel to hydrate, detangle and define Logan’s curls. While we’ve called them cornrows, Nai’vasha actually did overhand French braids to allow for height under each braid and to keep the curls intact.
Once braided, she pinned braids back and used the gel to edge up Logan’s baby hairs. Perfection!
