New Year, new hair continues to be a resounding mantra as we pull up on 2020, but we are still in awe of the hair moments that moved us over the past decade.

Not only did natural hair enjoy an epic resurgence, we continued to witness history-making firsts — like Maria Borges’ TWA for Victoria’s Secret annual runway show — and sparked conversations about everything from how we rock our hair and what messages we’re sending to Black people policing our own hair and even just how long we can go with our natural (and added) lengths. We even sparked movements to change laws that tried to dim the light of our God-given tresses.
