Missy McDaniels is not playing any games with her beauty boss move. The mastermind behind celebrity hair boutique Missy Hair Boutique is launching a new storefront in New York full of the fun, bravado and epic hair deals she has been known to feature at her stores and pop-up events around the country.
With her sights set on Harlem, Missy is kicking off a four-day “Wigfest” celebration with all off the extraness on Saturday morning. Beginning at 9 am, she will host her own “Wigchella” performance featuring a “Missy Stroll” backed by Cedar Grove High School marching band down Harlem’s iconic 125th Street.
There will also be celebrity guest appearances by Love & Hip-Hop New York’s Bianco Bonnie and Sky Black of Black Ink Crew, and, of course, some major hair deals. Missy will also be launching her namesake Missy McDaniels luxury hair collection.
But there will be more than just a spectacle. Missy is no stranger to the hair and beauty business, with nearly a decade of offering up lace front and full lace units along with virgin hair extension and closure options. The New York storefront will mark her fourth location — including two in Florida and the flagship store Atlanta. And, her luxury extensions have been rocked by many of our faves, including Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Tiny Harris, and Trina.
We caught up with the beauty boss to find out more about her latest venture and what to expect this weekend.
Hype Hair: You’re pulling out all of the stops for this grand opening! Beyond the celebrations, what kind of experience should we expect for this new location?
MISSY: Customers should expect an amazing experience when they visit. The luxury boutique is 10,000 square feet and will feature a full-service hair salon, private beauty suites, the top hairstylists that provide the best in lace front installations, pedicure, manicures, and other salon services.
HH: What made you choose New York?
MISSY: I have always loved New York! I started hosting pop-ups in New York and it was so successful each time. That’s when I decided I needed a location in New York — and what better place than in Harlem!
HH: We love a good deal on bundles. Can you tell us about your “Wigchella” sales?
MISSY: I will be slicing prices! You could get hair for as low as $30, $40 or $50 dollars. I move off the energy of the people so you never know how low I will go!
HH: What should consumers look for when it comes to “good” or quality hair?
MISSY: When you are purchasing bundles or extensions, notice how they are stitched — that determines if the hair will tangle. Also look at the structure of the cap, the hair line and the feel of the lace. It shouldn’t be hard or thick — when feeling the hair, it should be soft and cool feeling.
HH: What are some key tips for extending the life of our weaves/lace fronts?
MISSY: The best tip is to treat your extension or wigs as if it was your natural hair. With lace units, be gentle with the lace — no harsh chemicals in the hair it should last a longer.

Missy Hair Boutique’s NYC grand-opening celebration takes place Dec. 28-31 from 9 am to Midnight at 1-3 West 125th Street with a special stroll and guest celebs scheduled for Saturday morning. A New Year’s Eve celebration on Dec. 31 will feature free installs of full lace front purchases along with champagne toast beginning at 9 pm on Dec. 31.
