Gabrielle Union has been the subject of controversy for the past few days around the real reasons she won’t be returning to “America’s Got Talent” next season. Love B. Scott broke the news earlier this week that she was let go for speaking up against “problematic situations” and toxic workplace culture which has resulted in several deep-dive investigative reports.

Those “situations” basically are mired in Gabrielle’s Blackness, her willingness to speak up and out against racism in the workplace, being respectful of folks’ gender pronouns and being an overall awesome human being.

Also mentioned in the controversy are all of Gabrielle’s glorious hairstyles that we had been ogling over all summer long. Apparently her ever-changing hairstyles were considered “too Black” for the show. Sources say she was subjected to “excessive notes on [her] physical appearance” and failure to have hair continuity.

Now, she has helped another hair movement go viral (again) with celebs and fans, alike, taking to Twitter to celebrate the versatility of Black hair with the #BlackGirlChallenge.

“So many tears, so much gratitude,” wrote Gabrielle who has yet to publicly confirm or deny the issues. “THANK YOU! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone… you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever.”
