#KeepItClutch: Laverne Cox & Angela Bassett Rock Bold Accessories At The 2019 Emmys

There’s nothing like a good accessory to polish off a lewk — and last night statement clutches were the mood of choice. Tops on our list were Angela Bassett and Laverne Cox who served up the best kind of fashion drama with their handbags.

Angela slayed gave us candy crush dreams with a swirly Disco Lollipop Crystal Bag ($4,495) by Judith Leiber. Shout out to stylist Jennifer Austin for completing Angela’s red-hot slay with the clutch which featured Australian crystals.

Laverne made an even bolder fashion statement with her rainbow-colored clutch designed by Edie Parker emblazoned with the LGBTQ and transgender flags and the phrases “Oct. 8,” “Title VII,” and “Supreme Court.”

The words were meant to highlight the forthcoming Oct. 8 Supreme Court ruling on whether it will be legal to fire LGBTQ employees because of their orientation.

“I want everyone to tell their friends and family about this case,” said Laverne about the clutch which has helped her raise awareness of her cause.

“It should not be legal to fire someone from their job for being LGBTQ+,” she wrote on Instagram. “The Trump administration is arguing that it should be.”

Laverne also shared a link for her followers to learn more about the issue.
