In addition, to giving us our fashion lives, the hour-long special also went behind-the-scenes during six weeks of planning and production. It also highlighted Rihanna’s goal of celebrating the beauty of women.

“Every woman deserves to feel sexy,” she says in the film. “We are sexy, we are multifaceted and I want women to embrace that to the fullest.”

This thinking permeated throughout the entire process – with not just the fashions, but with the model casting.

“I am looking for unique characteristics in people that aren’t usually highlighted in the world of fashion as it pertains to lingerie and what society sees as sexy,” she says in one part of of the film. “I’m literally seeing their bodies as pieces of art.”
