Whoopi Goldberg has always been known for her loc game. She’s rocked them long, short, wrapped — and even wrapped. But, her latest look is about dramatic as she’s ever gone.

The award-winning actress and tv personality surprised her The View co-hosts when she showed up with a head full of platinum blonde and grey locs Wednesday (Sept. 18). And, it had nothing to do with her quirky fashion sense.
Instead, Whoopi revealed the new look is for her role as Mother Abagail for Stephen King’s limited series The Stand.
The extensions were wrapped by loctician Jeffrey Bautista who shared back in July that he had done a hair consultation for the actress.
Whoopi was loving her new look, which she said had to be cut down a bit to look more realistic. Her co-hosts also noted the care put in the hairstyle for the elderly character.
“People need to know that 100 is no longer what you think 100 used to be,” she added, referencing how old and “wrinkly” Cicely Tyson was made to look in the movie Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.
“People had no idea what older Black women looked like, because no one looked at old Black women. Now we look at an older Black woman…[and] you’re looking at amazing faces.” With great hair!
