Tracee Ellis Ross, the queen of natural hair goals, has finally launched her own natural haircare line. Like Chaka Khan’s hair collection, it seems like something that we should have always had access to. But, that’s okay — Tracee is here to show us how to love on our tresses just how she loves on hers.
Like its name, Pattern is formulated especially for and as a celebration of natural tresses. “Every curl has a story,” shares Tracee. But most importantly, her Phase I launch is all about healthy, moisturized hair.
The collection took “four years with chemists and 74 samples,” she told ESSENCE in a recent interview. She said she created the line to “empower” women with curly, coily, and tight textured hair.
The debut 10-item lineup includes hydrating shampoo, a medium conditioner for formulated for curlies, a heavy conditioner for coilies and an intensive conditioner for tight textures, along with a leave-in conditioner, jojoba oil serum and an argan oil serum for all hair types. There is also a microfiber towel, shower brush and hair clip.
After revealing her own expensive habit to craft the perfect curl in an interview with Allure last year, Tracee said she wanted to make sure her line was affordable “because we know that we need a lot of product in all this hair.”
The individual hair products come in various sizes and retail between $9 and $42 apiece; accessories from $10 to $19 and bundled kits from O$24 to $126.
Pattern is available now at patternbeauty.com. It will be available in Ulta stores and online beginning this Sunday (Sept. 22).
