Pat McGrath Is Launching Her First-Ever Foundation Collection

Pat McGrath, the official mother of makeup, is finally launching her own foundation line. She’s been slaying our lives for the past four years, going from limited-edition drops of shimmery, golden and intergalactic lip, eye and face offerings to permanent placement in Sephora.

Now, after six years of product development, she’s giving us 36 shades of Sublime Perfection Foundation ($68). The new “serum-soft” foundation is buildable with light to medium coverage designed to give a glowing satin finish. The foundation shades are broken up into five different shade levels: Light, Light Medium, Medium, Medium Deep and Deep.

It’s also designed to be nourishing, infused with a lush Vita-Serum Complex with hyaluronic acid and ceramides designed to fight wrinkles and boost hydration and Diamond Core Powder Technology to improves skin texture.

The new foundation is part of Pat McGrath Labs new three-step Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection the System, which includes a universal one-shade primer ($60) and five different shades of setting powder ($55) each).

The pearl primer is infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid to help add moisture and elasticity to skin with a translucent, velvety matte finish.

The Sublime Perfection Setting Powder comes in five different shades that are calibrated to complement one of the foundation’s five shade levels. is made with a Flex Form Matrix powder blend, infused with micronized amino acid-treated pigments for lightweight, buildable coverage. Each of the five shades is calibrated to complement one of the foundation’s five shade groups.

The system also features two different Sublime Perfection brushes — one for foundation ($55) and larger powder brush ($58). The brushes are cruelty-free, with FSC-certified wood, a fair-trade material, handles and synthetic fibers meant to mimic natural hairs.
