Grown–ish star Yara Shahidi has left fans in awe with her latest shoot for Harper’s Bazaar. Serving up a strong dose of #blackgirlmagic with unretouched images, the Hollywood darling falls right in line with the glossy’s theme, true beauty.
Lensed by Adrienne Raquel, she rocks a gorgeous structured afro with undefined curls styled by Nai’vaisha and a glowing beauty beat by Emily Cheng.
Channeling her modeling roots, the actress poses it up in a slew of high fashion pieces from Michael Kors, Hermès and Oscar de la Renta.
Inside the issue, Yara opens up about her off- duty style and the lack of inclusivity in the beauty industry.
On her off-duty style:
“By not showing skin, I’m making a statement.” she tells the mag. “My clothes need to have movement. For me, fashion is all about joy.”
On the lack of inclusivity in the beauty industry:
“I love that more beauty brands are doing this,” she shares about Bobbi Brown Cosmetics expanding their already extensive shade range. “There have been times when I got out of the makeup chair and my skin looked gray. It’s why I think every single person of color usually brings their own makeup kit to set.”
