Mary J. Blige has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to give us a universal nude lip to say this summer. Her new Viva Glam “French Silk” lipstick, a soft pink hue with brown, peach, and pink undertones, is set to hit stores this Sunday, June 23.
The limited edition “light-as-air” lippie is the first shade from MAC’s 24-shade “Love Me” collection which launches this summer. The new lipstick is infused with argan oil to deliver a super-hydrating and satin-soft finish.
The launch also commemorates the 25-year anniversary of Mary’s second album drop, My Life, and MAC’s AIDS charity – both of which dropped in 1994.
The lipstick packaging is also a nod to her My Life album cover with a nude and black gradient bullet.
“The campaign is all about me loving me and finding that in myself,” Mary J. Blige said in a statement. “When they introduced this concept to me it was like a no-brainer because that’s where I am in my life. I am being a little selfish these days, loving me and taking care of me.”
The new lipstick retails for $19 and will be available online at maccosmetics.com. Proceeds from each purchase will go to MAC’s AIDS Fund.
