Yes, Zendaya was a whole (princess) mood last night in her epic light-up gown. But, of course, every princess needs picture-perfect hair to complete the look. And the actress did not disappoint with an enchanted updo straight out of a fairytale storybook.
The ‘do came courtesy of Ursula Stephen — the good hairstylist, of course — who worked her magic her arsenal of drugstore beauty finds. We caught up with the Unilever expert to get all the deets about Zendaya’s magical look and how to recreate at home.
“For Zendaya, fashion almost always inspires what we do for her hair,” said Ursula. “You’ll see that with this look, it was no different as it was a very Zendaya spin on a classic Disney character.”
To get the look, she washed and conditioned a hairpiece from HairSoFab, adding Love Beauty and Planet Coconut Milk & White Jasmine Multi-Benefit Hair Milk ($6.99) before drying it.
Once dry, she barrel-curled hair in large sections and let. Before brushing out, she sprayed on Dove Care Between Washes Foam Dry Shampoo ($4.99) to help add volume.
For even more height, Ursula teased out Zendaya’s hair at the root and brushed it into a French twist, pulling out her bangs to frame her face. To get the perfect-princess staying power, she sprayed on TRESemmé TRES Two Unscented Extra Hold Hair Spray ($4.99) before finishing the look with a custom silk headband.
Slay on princess!
