Q: "My scalp is extremely sensitive and tends to get irritated every time I use an at-home relaxer kit. My sister uses the same system as I do and never has a reaction. What should I do?"
A:Well, your sister and you are two different people. What works for her may not work for you and vice versa. The scalp reaction is actually a skin issue and should be addressed by a dermatologist. We recommend scheduling an appointment. Until then, lay low on the relaxers. You may find that you have to start going to a professional salon where they only use professional relaxers. It may cost a little more, but the ingredients in professional-only systems are usually higher in quality and not as damaging.
