Hundreds of hair care professionals from across the country are expected to gather for the Natural Hair Industry Convention dedicated to educating and empowering industry professionals in the age of social media and DIY YouTube. A bevy of natural hair experts — including natural hair pioneer Diane C. Bailey, Dr. Kari Williams, Michelle London and Jocelyn Renee — will be on hand to cover everything from goddess locs and stitch braids to hair care and the business of beauty.
Originally founded in Maryland by hairstylists Susan Peterkin-Bishop and Angela Walker, this will be the event’s first year in Atlanta.
“Hairstylists of today have to be prepared to meet the unique haircare needs of the natural hair client sitting in their chairs,” said Susan. “As a natural and black hair mecca, Atlanta makes the perfect training ground for the Natural Hair Industry Convention to professionally develop hairstylists while giving them a place to share, network and gain the knowledge necessary to maintain the strength of the industry.”
The stylist-driven event will feature more than 20 “Look and Learn” classes, four hands-on trainings and nine main stage presentations to equip attendees with the tools, tips and resources needed to be at the forefront of the latest in natural hair care, treatments and advanced styling options.
