Hello! I have a quick question..so I'm trying to get my hair to grow longer, its a little past shoulder length now but I want It at least to the middle of my back. I do hot oil treatments, protein treatments, deep conditioning and all that good stuff but I only see little growth..what are some good growth products you recommend? By the way I have colored hair..Help!

Good morning How are you doing? Fine I hope. My question to you I have a teenager daughter her scalp is dry and brittle please help me with my daughters hair. What should I use.
Hype Hair
Use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners and then follow up with a leave in conditioner like Phytospecific's Integral Hydrating Mist. It's excellent for dry hair and scalp care!

Hype Hair
Try using an essential oil every day. We love Aphogee Essential Oils.

i have really hard to grow hair and when i cut it it stays short for longer than i want it to i want it to grow faster and healthy what can i do?
Hype Hair
You don't really have to cut your hair if it isn't damaged. Refrain from cutting it for a while.

Earlene : Posted On: Dec 31, 2011
exactly what is cowashing?
Hype Hair
Co-washing is the term used for simply conditioning your hair instead of washing it. Since shampooing too often can strip the hair of its natural oils, we recommend just conditioning, or "co-washing" the hair to bring some added moisture to it. You can wash the hair once a week and then co-wash two to three times a week.

hi im im mr 6th month of transitioning and prom will be coming up in a few months, i cant find any styles for my length of hair, i have over grown chinese bangs, and the rest of my hair is a breath from my shoulder. I need some tips my usual style is a bantu knot out with some kind of style and decoration.
Hype Hair
Though we love Bantu knots, we understand why you would want a change of style for your prom. Why not switch it up from Bantu knots to a cute two-strand twist style. You can add decorative flavor to the style once its finished by applying some nice sequin-embellished hairpins for a nice touch.

Hi, I have pretty decent hair in regards to its length. I would say that it's medium length, but really thick. I want to switch up my hairsyle because I'm used to only wearing curls or just straight. What would you recommend for medium-length thick hair without cutting it oo much? My grandma would kill me.
Hype Hair
Try a sleek style for a change. Visit your local salon for a "wrap".

Natural hair thrives of deep conditioning. Try co-washing the hair every week to rev up your natural hair care routine and cultivate longer, healthier hair.

How can i keep my hair free from breaking...
Hype Hair
Manipulate it as little as possible. The less you do with your hair, the better. No rough combing or brushing and be easy on the heat styling tools. Keep your hair moisturized to prevent the hair from getting too dry and always each a balanced diet to create a healthy mane of hair from the inside out.

iwould really like to dye my hair , but im scared to do it myself for the first time , and even though im natural , would a permant dye break my hair off alot ? or should ijust use the rinse ?
Hype Hair
We recommend consulting with a professional hairstylist to have your hair colored for the first time and choose a stylist who specializes in natural hair care.

i have strong i guess healty hair ! i use to have a plan where iwash it every sunday , and ikeep conditionar in it. but when the summer hit ifelt like ishoudnt put heat to my hair b/c iwould sweat it out and it would be a waste of work, so ihad it in a poof ball all the time, and inotice my hair would break off , and then istarted to put the eco-styler gel in to make it curly , but every time i wsh my hair inotice it keeps breaking off ! i'm all natural to . what can ido to keep it growning, and healty and strong ! and still rock it w/o putting more heat to my hair ?
Hype Hair
We recommend paying close attention to how your hair reacts to certain products. Contrary to popular belief, whet works for one head of head doesn't always work for another. If you notice your hair breaking and shedding after using certain products, discontinue using them and go back to your usual hair care routine that was working well for you.

Hey. I have hair thats in between poofy and curly. Its all natural and i don't want to add any heat to it. My hair tends to scrunch up after i wash it and if i want to show its true length i have to straighten it. But even then it just poofs out like an afro. I want to kno wat can i do to get my hair to hang down with tight curls with out adding harmful chemicals?
Hype Hair
Try a twist set with gel. After the hair is set release the twist and loosen them with the fingers for a cool, no heat style.

I want to dye my hair again but the summer of 2010 I used dark&lovely hair dye. It was a very pretty color on me. Later when I went to wash my hair, my hair started falling out so badly. It was like this maybe 3-4 times when I washed it again. I would like to know what should I do differently next time. Should I use a different dye? P.S what can I do to make my hair grow back it was damaged bad & is just starting to grow back. What can I do to speed up the process
Hype Hair
You may have used the hair dye too soon after relaxing your hair if you had it chemically processed before hand. Wait two weeks after relaxing to color your hair. Also, deep condition the hair regularly after treating the hair with color.

Hi, I wanted to bleach my hair a lighter color maybe blond but not platinum I’m between olive and brown complexion do you think this color will fit me? And also I been add rinse in my hair for the past two years blue black will that affect the bleaching process in any way if yes, what do you recommend I do and also what color if not the blond do you recommend? p.s. never bleach my hair before
Hype Hair
Yes, you can absolutely work a blonde color! The wonderful thing about hair color is that you can blend various shades that work perfectly with your skin tone. Keri Hilson's look is a good example of this, as her hair is a result of intermixing different shades. The rinse is ok. Just make sure that it is completely rinsed out before having your hair bleached.Since this is your first time having your hair colored, don't attempt this process at home. Consult with a professional to have it done.

i just recently (march) relaxed my hair after being natural for almost 2yrs after my pregnancy and now my hair is breaking off and shedding alot the pastmoth and i was wondering if i should try ashort cut or braids to bring the strength and length back to my hair
Hype Hair
It is common for the hair to begin to shed after pregnancy and the fact that you relaxed your hair shortly after probably exacerbated the problem. Ask your stylist about protein treatments like the one from Aphogee to help stop the shedding.

Marie : Posted On: Sep 18, 2011
I have recently moved to another state. I have been here for about 3 months. Since I've been here I noticed my hair has started to shed a lot during combing. My sister has been experiencing the same problem as well. I was wondering if the change in the water may have an effect on our hair. I was not having this problem before I moved. Do you have any suggestions on conditioning treatments.
Hype Hair
It could be the hard water/change of environment. Talk to your hair stylist about protein treatments that can help stop the shedding.

I am not always able to go to the salon to get my hair done at the salon. It has been about a year and a half since I got my ends clipped. What is the correct way for me to clip my own ends and how often should I clip them? Also, every time I curl my hair, which isn't that often, it seems days later my hair feels so brittle and dry, almost as if it is going to break off. Should I put something on my hair before I curl it?
Hype Hair
Trim your hair every six weeks as needed. This helps to ward off split and dry ends that can ruin any hairstyle. If you must trim your own hair, shampoo and condition first. Rinse and then comb the hair straight down. Trim straight across ends to the length that you want. Sometimes you just need to only 'dust' the ends, meaning trim only about a quarter of an inch of the length off. When you curl your hair, apply an oil moisturizer first and then spritz with a heat protectant spray to protect the hair and prevent brittleness.

Choosing the right color depends on the undertones of the skin, but for the most part, we love honey blonde highlights on caramel complexions.

You can try making some changes in your diet by adding more protein, legumes, green leafy vegetables and multi-vitamins, which are all excellent for hair maintenance and growth.

My hair has been breaking off alot & I thought my hair was damage because flat ironing & blow drying, so I cut my long hair into a bob. Thinking it would help the breakage, but it didnt. My hair continued to shed and break and my hairs only grow probably an inch and a half this past year. I tried taking vitamins but I haven't seen any result. I also found out I have a thyroid problem and I read on the internet that it may be why my hairs breaking off. I was wondering if there was something I could do that might help my hair grow back long.
Hype Hair
Protecting the hair from breaking is something you can do to preserve the hair you have while it grows. Sleeping in a satin scarf at night protects the hair from drying out and breaking while you sleep. Also, be mindful of how you are handling your hair. Combing and brushing the hair correctly can help prevent breakage. Try products that are geared to your specific hair care needs and eat a healthy balanced diet as well.

When wearing weaves, how long should you go before giving your hair a break
Hype Hair
We recommend going no more than three months with a weave. After than, give the hair a short break before installing a new one.

If your hair is naturally thin, there is not much you can do about how it grows in, however you can try styling techniques that make the hair appear thicker. Try a wet set.

Well last week I got my hair done in some weave for the first time where the front of my hair is mines and the back is sewed in. My question is how to keep up with it.

The main thing is to continue to hair for your own hair underneath the weave. There are many weave care products that can assist you with this.

I'm going on vacation and plan to visit the beach every chance I get. Sun and salt water is on my daily agenda. I'm usually in a wig or twists but my tight curls will be a frizzy mess on the beach. I don't perm my hair, and I'm not really feeling braids (unless you convince me otherwise). After the beach I want to look good when I go out in the evenings. I'm not sure if I should do a weave or braids ? I am concerned about protecting my hair. I don't want to spend too much money on the weave as I will probably have to take it out when I return. If you recommend a weave, which brand, and what texture what products should I use while sunning and salting?

I made the mistakes of getting french braids a year ago. After having the braids in for no more than a few days, I had to take the braids out because of the tightness. But the damage was already done and my edges have never been the same. I haven't been putting chemicals/relaxers in my hair since. I've been wearing weaves but I make sure not to have the weave put any tension on my edges. I've changed my diet, increased my water in-take, take vitamins daily and my edges are still short. PLEASE HELP!
Hype Hair
Try applying a quality temple balm to your edges twice a day.We suggest Organic Root Stimulator Fertilizing Temple Balm. Protecting the edges is also key. Always be sure to protect the edges at night by wearing a satin scarf or sleeping on a satin pillow case at night.

If you are looking for a shorter style without having to cut your own lengthy hair, a good technique for you would be to try a weave cap. This technique allows you the convenience of having a shorter look and highlights with ease. Ask your hairstylist for more about this great technique!

My hair is down 3 inches from the middle of my back and it's thick. I get my hair pressed and flat ironed. I would like to know what can I do to make my hair grow a couple more inches longer, which products can I use or what style should I wear it in to get it to grow longer. Thank You Carmelita
Hype Hair
If you are looking to grow your hair to a longer length, it is best to choose protective styles that keep the ends covered. You can choose chignons or loose buns and even braids. Keeping the ends protected through styling is key to preventing breakage. This, in turn, allows you to keep the length that you have while your hair grows.

Ilove to wear weave in my head i dont never give my hair time to breath what can i do to keep my hair healthy and do dont damage my real hair
Hype Hair
Whenever you wear weaves, it is important to be sure that it is not installed too tightly to prevent breakage. Although wearing your hair in weaves is a great protective style that can give your hair time to grow, it can actually have the opposite affect if the weave is too tight. The second thing to do is to make sure you take care of your hair the same way you would if you were not wearing a weave. The hair should be washed every week. Use a hooded dryer to make sure the hair is completely dried after washing and always make sure that you keep your hair moisturized while wearing a weave. You can use products that have a tip applicator so that you can apply moisturizer to those hard to reach spots between the braids and the wefts. Try Aphogee Essential Oils For Hair.
