Her hair extensions line — including a slew of curly and wavy hair patterns, clip-ins and lace closures — are just the beginning for this brand. The beauty also has a line of hair care productsteas, shampoos, conditioners, and vitamins to help promote healthy hair and skin underneath your flawless extensions.

We got the opportunity to catch up with the track and field athlete about the best hairstyles for athletes, tips for purchasing extensions, advice for upcoming beauty bosses and so much more.

Hype Hair: What are some of the best hairstyles you recommend for female athletes to protect their hair?
MacKenzie Hill: I recommend weaves or tweeners, wigs that are sewin, because they can quickly go from working out to pulled together without stressing their hair. Or, my new favorite is a ponytail with braids in the front especially when traveling and competing; it is low maintenance yet a polished style.

HH: Who are some of your biggest hair icons?
MH: I love Nicki Minaj’s BOLD color, Taraji P. Hensen’s fierce bob, and anything Naomi Campbell does.
