Funnywoman Rashida Jones has landed a starring role as the first-ever brand ambassador for Maison Kitsuné. The design house tapped the Angie Tribeca actress to be the face of its ‘Parisien’ collection.
Lensed by British photographer Benjamin Lennox, poses it up for the campaign in an oversized white oxford shirt emblazoned withe brand’s signature tricolor fox log. The limited edition line is designed to offer “a city chic and laid-back wardrobe” of elevated staples, according the brand’s website. Other classic offerings from the line include a wool cardigan, red and white striped shirt, basic polos and sweat shirts.
“The Maison Kitsuné woman never seems like she is trying too hard. She is confident with a casual attitude and subtle but undeniable charm, has good taste and a playful sense of humor,” said said Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, the brand’s co-founders and creative directors, on their website. “For our first-ever Parisien campaign, we were looking for a strong, thoughtful, talented and witty woman. Rashida perfectly embodies the spirit of the Parisien collection – we are very excited to welcome her in the Maison Kitsuné family!”
Gildas told the WWD that the partnership came from his growing friendship with the actress. “We were a fan of what she was doing as an actress and also her work with documentaries,” he said. The fact that she is the daughter of music legend Quincy Jones was also a plus. “We’d been thinking since our brand is young and developing that we would need an international face at some point to further our story and build brand awareness for Maison Kitsuné.”
