The brotherhood and sisterhood that has formed between the cast and crew of Marvel’s Black Panther is palpable. Their bond is evident in interviews, behind the scenes clips and, even, push-up bets. Beyond sharing and reposting successes from her fellow cast mates, Lupita Nyong’o has taken to recreating cast mates featured cover spreads.
The Oscar-winner took to Instagram Monday to recreate a version of Chadwick Boseman‘s jaw-dropping
thirst-trap Rolling Stone cover. Shot by her hairstylist Vernon Francois, she also poses shirtless while draped in a black leather and fur coat paired with black denim jeans.
“Imitation is the best form of flattery: @chadwickboseman I admire your quiet, confident, regal nature. You brought the wealth of all your knowledge, wisdom and physicality to T’Challa,” she captioned the side-by-side pic. “We celebrate BREAKING BOX OFFICE RECORDS with @blackpanther for many reasons, but chief among them is because we had you as our king. Enkosi Kumkani!! And congratulations on your @rollingstone cover. From someone who loves you.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Lupita get into Wakanda #CoverCosplay. Earlier this month, she served up Michael B. Jordan swag in homage to his British GQ cover while giving him a birthday shout out on February 9.
