Finding the perfect beauty product is everything, but learning how to turn your passion for beauty into a thriving business is an added bonus- and GLAMBITION’s Beauty Night Out event was just what we needed. Founded by Dee Rivera, the annual event’s goal is to empower women entrepreneurs and provide them tools for creating a successful platform.
This year, beauty influencers, editors and bloggers packed Google’s NYC hub for workshops, panel discussions and, of course beauty products hosted! Most notably, multimillion dollar beautypreneurs Vera Moore of Vera Moore Cosmetics, Jane Carter of Jane Carter Solutions and Kim Baker of GLAMAZON Beauty Cosmetics joined in conversation with Hello Beautiful beauty editor Danielle James about the inspiration behind their brands and shared tips for running a successful business.
All of the them resonated on one shared idea: their brand filled a necessary hole in the market.
“I became frustrated because I felt that there were not a lot of brands that celebrated Black beauty,” said Kim. “It all came from one day walking into Sephora. I put my makeup case down and I looked up at the images on the wall and I saw all Caucasian women. I love everybody, but we have to celebrate everybody at the same time.”
Vera Moore Cosmetics and GLAMAZON Beauty Cosmetics both featured makeup demos throughout the day,, the opportunity to rent your closet and shop the closet’s of other women with fashion outlet ModelCitizen and hair consultations by Jane Carter Solutions including the popular curly hair product: the quench curl hydrator, that reactivates m and restores moisture.
