Kerry Washington is no stranger to stunning on the red carpet and her Golden Globes slay was no exception. The Scandal star joined a bevy of celebs in support of team #BlackOut and, of course, rocked our worlds in a gorgeous sequined Prabal Gurung dress. It turns out, though, Kerry found special meaning in all of her beauty beat details to symbolize supporting woman’s rights.

Her dress represented “being humble in Hollywood,” explained her go-to hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew while sharing details on Kerry’s cascading deep waves.  “Her hair represents bold, strong, and sexiness!”

With everyone rocking all black, stylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew also wanted to make sure Kerry’s hair stood out. Using clip-ins from her TSD Hair line, Takisha clipped in Body Wave Extensions all through out Kerry’s hair for body and length. She then wrapped small sections of the hair in CERASILK Woven Ceramic Curling Iron (115, http://www.ulta.com/cerasilk-woven-ceramic-styling-iron?productId=xlsImpprod15911009) in alternating directions and larger sections at the top for volume to create the free-flowing look.

Her beauty beat also held meaning, showcasing vivid purple-lined eyes that also happen to be the Pantone’s 2028 color of the year. Makeup artist Carola Gonzalez said the color signified “loyalty, purpose and inserting steadfastness to a cause.”
